This guide in this series of botanical monographs aims to provide a comprehensive account of the 19 species of the genus cyclamen. The genus cyclamen comprises of a group of very distinct species native to parts of Europe and western Asia, as well as North Africa. It belongs to the primrose family, the primulaceae, and although the flowers bear some resemblance to other genera in the family, especially dodecatheon and soldanella, cyclamen has no obvious affinities and holds a rather isolated position. The book gives details of the history and full cultural information of the genus, stating that with the right selection of species it is possible to have cyclamen in flower almost throughout the year. The study is aimed at botanists and keen gardeners.
Anything that comes from Mothering Magazine I have found to be sound information. It is nice to know that there are concious people out there who trust in nature.
To the person that rated this book 2 stars, it should be known that the raw eggs must come from free range chickens, preferably on a local farm (not your grocery store). That is a healthy way of eating eggs and getting all the nutrition for them. With a 'clean egg' the only thing you would need to worry about is how to get it down (and keep it down)!
I am in the process of starting a magazine and this book by far has the best information of any of the others I have purchased. This book gives encouragement and is easy to read and follow. I enjoyed how the writer used common sense language. This book encourages you to use the tools and materials you own already to start your business instead of telling you, how many trillions of dollars you need to start up.
I read all the books about starting magazines for a school project and I think Woodard's book is the best. It covers things overlooked by books about design or editing or production - like how to set competitive ad prices, or how to sell subscriptions without a lot of money. And because this one is updated regularly, its very current, including how to integrate a website with a print magazine. Full of practical suggestions from real publishers, and links to a mass of resources, this book may be the only one you need.
This book is great. This is the book to get if you are not really sure about what to do in a gym or at home. I also suggest this book to any new trainers that are looking for good workouts to use with clients as you learn program design. It's also great for more experienced trainers to use on those days when you are drawing a blank on what to do or you need to give a client a workout to do on their own for one reason or another.
