101 Workouts for Women: Everything You Need to Get a Lean, Strong and Fit Physique Decide Now

Over All Rating Reviews :
i teach fitness classes at a major national chain. this book is excellent. great ideas, wonderful pictures and tips. no diets (which i don't always like to have mixed with my fitness/exercise books). it's pure exercise moves using barbells, dumbbells, bands, stability balls and machines with good variety on each. if you workout at home only without a gym this probably won't work for you but if you're a gym person this is a great book. i should mention that i really like the diversity of fitness models. that's something you don't always see in fitness books but i really appreciate it. this book is like having a personal trainer! i'm going to use it to select some exercises before i go to the gym then when i get there i'll just do the routine i planned for myself. again, i have lots of exercise experience but i still find this book to be a fresh edititon to my fitness book collection. if you like muscle & fitness hers magazine you'll really like all the workouts in one easy to ready, and pretty, book. good job!!!!

Where To Buy Smashing WordPress: Beyond the Blog (Smashing Magazine Book Series)

Over All Rating Reviews :
I consider myself to have a slightly better than a beginning understanding of PHP language. Even then, I found the book somewhat difficult to understand. The author uses his own blog theme (Notes Core) as the foundation for the exercises he uses in this book. I did like his coverage on theming Wordpress, template tags, hooks, and plugin's. I just wished the author would have clarified a little bit more in his examples. I feel I may have to read this book again just to 'get it' about customizing Wordpress. At any rate, I will be sure to rely on it as a referemce before I delve into the WordPress Codex.

One thing the book does illustrate very effectively, is using Wordpress as a Content Management System. There are several examples on how to create static pages, how to customize pages based on category tags, custom programming involving multiple Wordpress Loops and hooks, and much more. I needed to know this information, as I'd like to use WordPress as a starting foundation for my web designs, be they blogs or webpages.

One nitpick; the book has full color throughout? Why couldn't the code examples be syntax highlighted by color? I'm trying to parse the PHP code examples, but after looking at PHP code in my IDE, I just find it difficult to follow such code in any other way. Line numbers would be great, so that the content can refer to them in explaining the code. This way, this book could be a little bit more accessible to PHP programmers who have not had much experience. (Like me, for instance!)

Buying Publish Your Own Magazine, Guide Book, or Weekly Newspaper: How to Start, Manage, and Profit from a Homebased Publishing Company (Culture Tools

Over All Rating Reviews :
I couldn't be much happier with this book. On the plus side: The author suggests so many publishing ventures which can be handled on a small scale, or by a one-person-show. In fact, after I finish my first publishing project, I intend to try one or two other ideas from the book. This book saved me from making a huge mistake by showing me I was trying to "reach" too far with my first publication project. I understand now just how far I can successfully extend myself as a sole-proprietor in my venture - and by scaling back accordingly I've insured success. Invaluable tool. I'll never part with this book. :) (The only thing I'd update about this book is the discussion of printing industry technology)

Order Mothering Magazine's Having a Baby, Naturally: The Mothering Magazine Guide to Pregnancy and Childbirth

Over All Rating Reviews :
Let me start by saying this is not a BAD book. If you are looking for an introduction to Natural Birth, this is a good beginner's guide. HOWEVER ~ having been a reader of Mothering magazine for a number of years, I expected something a bit more earthy, natural, and... well, RADICAL. This book is not it. It does discuss a wealth of topics, and as an alternative to some atrocity like the ridiculous "What to Expect..." guides, this is great, and I encourage you to read it ~ as a jumping off point for something a bit more Natural, like "Prenatal Yoga and Natural Childbirth," by Jeannine Parvati Baker.

I walked away from this book disappointed, and with the distinct suspicion that Peggy O'Mara watered down her views simply to appeal to a wider audience.

Cheap Projects for the Birder's Garden: Over 100 Easy Things That You can Make to Turn Your Yard and Garden into a Bird-Friendly Haven

Over All Rating Reviews :
This book will delight the Do-It-Yourself types who would rather put something together and attract birds to their backyards than to merely observe them in the wild. It's a sturdy, glossy trade paperback with detailed line-drawings, tables, side-bars, and step-by-step project sheets.

It starts with a section of fast-and-easy projects for beginners to get your feet wet with the easiest of the various types of woodworking, cooking, and gardening projects you can do to attract birds.

Later chapters go into detail on each of the specialties (woodworking, cooking, gardening) so that you can either do it all or just focus on the chapters that address your talents.

The book also includes a Projects-at-a-Glance index so you can look up things to do involving Nesting, Water, Landscaping, et cetera. Highly recommended. Longer review at OrnateBirdGarden-dot-com.

Owl City - Super Honeymoon With Lyrics

Owl City - Super Honeymoon Sorry The video is rubbish And i do not own this song xD Lyrics - Glamour and fashion Models and magazines... a striking runway entrance Beauty and passion Stardust and high class scenes of popular teens When I lived in Denver, I met a millionaire With ribbons in her blonde hair I still remember She was like a princess straight from a dreamy castle in the air So lovely... She was everything to me Both alone in the dark We long to see the sun Rise over the Bering Strait I was sick of the west When I turned 21 So I moved to the Sunshine State We played golf on the moon And tennis on the sun Like athletes of the afternoon The solar flares burned my arms And made her makeup run On our super lunar honeymoon I was the youngest son of a congressman And everything was my fault... She was a gymnast, happily swinging On the uneven bars, tucked in a somersault

101 Workouts for Women: Everything You Need to Get a Lean, Strong and Fit Physique Right now

Over All Rating Reviews :
I just picked this book up at B&N yesterday and for some of the very reasons previously listed by the other two posters. I love all of the great ideas it has to offer and the diversity of the women in the book. I also love the fact that all the pictures depicting the poses are in COLOR. It even provides exercise routines which includes the number of sets and repetitions along with tips on what or what not to do. For those of you who don't have a gym membership don't fret it offers plenty of exercises you can do at home utilizing dumbbells, barbells, medicine balls, resistance bands, your furniture, a step apparatus, a workout bench, and an exercise ball.
So there's something for everyone at any level. I don't think I've ever been this excited about exercising since there are 101 fully color illustrated exercises to choose from.
I wish that I had ordered it from Amazon because I could have saved money but I'm still happy I got the book.

Catalog 101 Workouts for Women: Everything You Need to Get a Lean, Strong and Fit Physique

Over All Rating Reviews :
There is another even better book than 101 Workouts for Women. It is called Ultimate Body Book by Shape Magazine. It has many more exercises (all color photos), extremely useful information and facts and also a section full of recipes. Buy the Ultimate Body Book (by Shape Magazine) or borrow it from the library first. I would rate the Ultimate Body Book 5 out of 5 stars.

Love 'em or hate 'em, Vice is is not one to mince words. The NYC-via-Montreal magazine/record label/clothing store/book publishers compiled the "best of the best"...and "best of the worst" of Vice Magazine's street fashion critiques. Sometimes scathing, oftentimes blow milk out of your nose funny, mixed with thoughts of "I know he didn't just write that!" Vice Dos & Don'ts is an entertaining read. FYI: check out www.viceland.com for a complete archive of articles and 'fashion' critiques.

Cheapest Starting & Running a Successful Newsletter or Magazine

Over All Rating Reviews :
Starting & Running a Successful Newsletter or Magazine should be on the desk or bookshelf of every would-be or early-stage publisher (maybe seasoned professionals as well)! I have read a number of other books on this subject and, from my point of view, Cheryl Woodard's thoughtful, direct and insightful work is easily the best I have come across.

Not only is her past experience in starting 3 successful magazines clearly on display here, but Ms. Woodard has continued to bring the book up-to-date with the latest trends for introducing a newsletter or magazine to the market and managing the publication after introduction. In addition, she has assembled a list of contacts and other important information that will be an immediate benefit to any new publisher.

This book will stay close at hand for me as a resource and problem reference!

Save Mothering Magazine's Having a Baby, Naturally: The Mothering Magazine Guide to Pregnancy and Childbirth

Over All Rating Reviews :
Diehard Mothering readers might think this book is a little too mainstream, but I think it's very valuable for people who are learning about the concept of natural childbirth and evaluating all their options. It gives a detailed analysis of the risks involved with everyday interventions and encourages birthing mothers to be fully informed before submitting to them. It offers suggestions for natural remedies, yoga postures, meditation, and natural comfort measures while in labor, and even mentions that you might use a midwife and birth at home. However, the book also assumes that you might feel more comfortable delivering in a hospital -- without making you feel guilty about that choice. I came away from this book feeling positive about being pregnant, not nervous or worried like after reading "What To Expect...". I think it does a good job of debunking many of today's obstetrical myths and gives new moms courage to ask questions. My first birth was totally natural, in a hospital. I just finished reading this a month into my second pregnancy. It validates the ideas I had the first time around and gives me even more resolve to pursue a drug-free, interventionless birth again.

Buy Bicycling Magazine's New Cyclist Handbook

Over All Rating Reviews :
VERY informative little book, I must say. While some of the instructions go a little "over the top", length-wise,(changing a flat tire), it is always feasible to be too"wordy", than not"wordy" enough. Basic maintenance is crucial to enjoying a bike, and to think nothing is going to happen to your bike while riding, is asking for trouble. This book should be standard reading for all bike enthusiasts....mountain AND road. It answers most of the beginning cyclist's questions with easy to read text. Even seasoned "veterans" will appreciate the full spectrum of subjects included in this paperback.

Over All Rating Reviews :
Although there is useful information throughout, the book appears quite dated. This author still refers to such technological "wonders" as the fax machine and, god forbid, the yellow pages, and seems never to have heard of the internet. I really expected more cutting-edge, up to date, information.

This has got to be the FUNNIEST book ever! That these guys are Canadian and NOT from Toronto makes the book even better! Yeah, the jokes are a bit cruel and un-P.C. but, jeepers, they are FAR from racist. Nobody is safe. Children, "normal" people, freaks even your mom could be captured on film and suddenly be forced to face the music for their fashion crimes! Most people who slam this type of humour are uptight, lame-o, party-poopin', pretentious, holier-than-thou nerds. If you know anything about VICE you will dig the vibe in this book.

Promotion Publish Your Own Magazine, Guide Book, or Weekly Newspaper: How to Start, Manage, and Profit from a Homebased Publishing Company (Culture To

Over All Rating Reviews :
Although Williams certainly offers a great number of helpful tips and forms for those interested in pursuing publishing ventures, I agree with other reviewers that this book would have benefited from a narrower focus rather than trying to tackle the three major varieties of publications (not to mention their sub-varieties) in a single book. Though they certainly share similarities, there are enough differences to keep someone interested solely in newspaper publishing (or whichever focus is yours) rather bored for much of the text.

This is especially problematic in the chapters seemingly directed toward "all" of the publication varieties. The chapter on printing, for example, is actually heavily geared toward book printing with only a short section on printing newspapers, which seems to have been tacked on almost as an afterthought.

Specific technical information, too, is in slightly short supply. Even after reading through the entire book, I'm still a little uncertain about the nature and purpose of things like halftones and color separations, despite Williams' frequent mention of them.

Nevertheless, this is still a decent starting place for the ambitious novice publisher. Williams' advice is overall quite sound and relevant enough for me to keep the book around as a reference tool for my projects.
